The Mouth/Body Connection

Infections and inflammation in your mouth can play havoc elsewhere in your body. Research shows people with periodontal disease are at a higher risk for developing heart disease, stroke, uncontrolled diabetes and respiratory disease. Since periodontal disease is a bacterial infection, it can enter the blood stream and travel to our major organs and begin new infections. All infections are cause for concern. Dr. Dennis Rinaldi and staff at our dental office in Jensen Beach encourage you to be proactive about your oral health as well as your overall health by scheduling a periodontal evaluation.

Professional Cleanings

Adequate brushing and flossing practices are vital to achieving healthy teeth and gums, but there’s no substitute for preventive care administered by a professional. Dr. Rinaldi and our team of dental hygienists possess the tools and expertise to remove harmful plaque buildup and tartar and give you a fresh, clean smile. Dr. Rinaldi also checks for conditions like oral cancer, periodontal disease and decay to ensure your teeth and gums are healthy.

Fluoride Treatment

Fluoride is a natural mineral that fortifies the tooth’s protective enamel layer and guards against decay. Toothpastes and mouth rinses contain fluoride, but only dentists offer treatments with truly effective concentrations of fluoride. We apply a quick-drying and tasteless fluoride varnish to teeth one to four times each year, depending on your dental health needs.

Sealants

Sealants literally “seal” off the deep grooves on the chewing surfaces of the molars and premolars. These areas are where food collects and decay occurs most often. By brushing on a thin plastic material that hardens and bonds to the surface of the tooth, food debris and plaque can’t settle into pits and fissures and promote decay.

DIAGNOdent™ Cavity Detection

In dentistry, the sooner the problem is spotted, the easier it is to resolve. Cavities are no exception. We utilize DIAGNOdent technology to identify the formation of tooth decay within the tooth even before it is noticeable to the human eye. A comfortable, non-invasive laser probe is used to expose developing cavities. All it takes is a few minutes to scan the entire mouth.

Non-Surgical Root Canal Therapy

When tooth pulp becomes infected, root canals can save the tooth and eliminate the need for restorative solutions like bridges or implants in the future. Dr. Rinaldi alsouses the laser to remove the diseased pulp while sanitizing the root canal system.

Intraoral Camera

Dr. Rinaldi uses an intraoral camera to show you what he sees when looking at your smile. This way, you can witness the “before” and “after” transformation in incredible detail. We want you to be informed about the condition of your teeth and gums and appreciate the benefits of routine preventive and restorative care.
